SOUL MUSE

a journey back to honesty...and to myself

Field of Flowers

Wholeness isn't about becoming, it is about returning…

Reaching this point in life is an awakening. No longer ruminating as much about the little things...starting to fully know and accept myself...and finally knowing what I want. Took me long enough, I know. After having an (unplanned!) (miracle) baby girl, it was like the decade-long fog had finally lifted. Maybe it was keeping up with my three sons, who were 14, 12, and 9 when my daughter came! But things became clear to me suddenly. She is now 2 and I see myself in her so much, it shocks me. She is a free spirit, full of smiles (since day 1) and love. Seeing her, I was left to wonder: where did I go? I was her, so full of life, so determined, so cluelessly sweet (yes, you sense some baggage in that last sentiment). I wrote a poem to my daughter called ‘Returning’ just as I was reading up on wholeness and the two seemed synonymous. So, the blog starts there, with this poem, because it has been in "returning" to my childhood self through my daughter, that I am finally feeling fully myself, and fully alive.

AND P.S.

This site is kind of an art dump for me, a place where I can share all the things, partly as a memento for my kids but also for you all. We can meet here to think about life and maybe listen to it a bit in the music.
All love,
Mel

A Journey

The soul is inspiration; inspiration is the soul. The deepest, truest part of us all. Our essence. Our God part. Sometimes, we need to dig deep to unearth it.
